Now I want to start to focus on three basic things that we must all know about faith. The key to success in anything is to first understand and then master the fundamentals. The Bible says we must put first things first and understand the very first principles of God’s Word. The word fundamental means basic, primary, essential, underlying or elemental. Fundamental according to Thesaurus English Dictionary also means important or vital. You can master anything in life if you will take time to master the fundamentals. Sports have fundamentals. I will never forget the first time I went out for JV (junior varsity) football. It was in the hot, summer South Carolina humidity that we heard day after day; FUNDAMENTALS!!! Block and tackle you idiots – the 300 pound JV coach would scream. He understood the importance of fundamentals. Whenever we blew or missed a fundamental like a block or a tackle, he would make us run several laps around the baseball field in that hot sun with all of that football equipment on. That dude was meaner than a junk-yard dog, but he understood. One great former NFL coach said it this way;
“Fundamentals win it! Football is two things; blocking and tackling. The team that blocks and tackles better will win!” Vince Lombardi

WHY ARE FUNDAMENTALS SO IMPORTANT?
For years I was a professional drummer playing music for a living. I learned early that one of the keys to being a successful drummer was to learn the 26 basic rudiments. These rudiments are designed to help the drummer master the art of drumming. Many have said to me when they saw me practicing; I did not know that drummers actually read music, I thought they just banged on the drums. No, not every drummer reads music, but those who want to excel learn to read and execute the fundamentals called rudiments.



THE ABCs of FAITH
There are three simple basics that you need to know about faith. These three spiritual principles are fundamentals. They are actually the most important things that you can learn about faith. These things are the actual ABCs of faith. First, I want to give credit and honor to our late brother Kenneth E. Hagin, whom I first heard teach this. Kenneth Hagin said faith is the money that heaven deals with. To understand faith it is important to understand the parallel of faith with money. Here are three things we need to understand about money which go hand in hand with the ABCs of faith:

#2 How money comes
#3 How to spend money
MONEY ANALOGY
First we must understand “what money is”, if we don’t we will not value it. Money in the natural world is power or influence.
Secondly we must understand “how money comes”, if we don’t understand this we will never have much of it. Money comes first of all by working. Money grows by investing. Money increases by giving!
Third we must know how to spend or release money. Need I say more?

C – How to release or turn your faith loose!

These three principles of faith are the key to building a solid foundation for your faith life.
